Federica, an accomplished rider who rode Jumpers and "Three Day" in her native Italy, is now trying her best at dressage. Her strengths lie in the management of the facility, especially the care of the horses, and the work with the broodmares and young colts. She enjoys starting and riding young horses, breeding Dutch Warmbloods, and studying equine behavior. As a good Italian, her favorite thing to do is to fatten up a skinny horse.
Anton's strenghts are in the building and maintanance side of Somerset. Anton can fix anything, from a leaky toilet to the hydraulic system on a tractor, and has in fact done so many times. A welder, metal fabricator and mechanic by profession, he has been invaluable to the operations of the facility by maintaining all the vehicles, designing all the pastures and shelters, and fixing anything and everything that breaks. His forte is fixing up and maintaining golf carts for the Somerset fleet. He also produces biodiesel on site to power our tractors and trucks.
Gustavo is the ranch manager. He takes care of things in his quiet, calm way. He is a very experienced horse handler, having worked the horse show circuit for many years. All horse love him, the stallions respect him. He can spot a colicing horse or a lameness a mile away, while he keeps the horses taken care of, and the grounds looking fabulous.
